I received a call from my friend Gwen today that has meant alot to me today and will forever be in my memory. She told me that I should go take a photo of a man standing outside the Fort Carson gate. She said that he was holding up a sign that said, "Thank You" and wearing a shirt that stated the same. It didn't take a second for me to grab my camera bag and head out the door.
There are so many people that protest the war and are against it but there are very few that do something like this. Who knows if he is for the war or against it. Who cares! What matters is that he was standing outside one of the busiest gates at Fort Carson and saying thank you to the soldiers! Telling them thank you for risking their lives, being gone for a year or more, missing their children grow up, missing anniversaries, missing first words, and the list could go on. How many people do that everyday??
Next time you see a soldier thank him or her!!

Seeing this picture makes everything in my busy life seem to stand still. This picture speaks a thousand words!
We just saw a guy outside the Fort Wainwright gate yesterday doing the same exact thing?! =)
I thought it was really neat! And it does mean alot! What a sweet guy!
So true...that friend Gwen, she's one of a kind ;)
For real though, that guy deserves so much credit.
